Welcome to the E5 Nexus Lab at the China-UK Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The group is led by Dr. Fei Yao (fei.yao@sjtu.edu.cn).

We focus on a wide range of topics at the nexus of renewable energy, the atmospheric environment, public health (epidemiology), the economy, and ecosystem health, with a particular emphasis on the atmospheric environment and renewable energy:

• Atmospheric environment, its impacts, and responses
• Renewable energy and climate change mitigation
• AI-enabled sustainable energy and environmental research

Our research is primarily based on Earth Observation data and computational models, including process-based models (e.g., GEOS-Chem, PVLIB-Python), data assimilation (e.g., adjoint methods), and artificial intelligence.
